Eugene Williams was a charismatic musician, singer, composer, and choir director, consumed in a tall slim frame, who dared to stretch boundaries in every aspect of his musical gifts.

He formed the first community choir in Houston, called Eugene Williams and The Houston Interdenominational Choir. His selflessness allowed him to create space, identify and feature other Gospel music giants and influencers. He and his choir gained national acclaim in 1975 after their performance of his arrangement of The Battle Hymn of the Republic at Gospel Music Workshop of America held in New York, NY at Madison Square Garden.
